Full event info Mudskipper Parry Sound swimrun, held in late July each year. Parry Sound is approximately 225 km (140 miles) north of Toronto, on the eastern side of Georgian Bay.
The area boasts many beautiful beaches, parks and trails. It is ideally situated just off highway 400, in the Southernmost part of Northern Ontario.
This charming waterfront town is within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and home to 6,500 residents in the town itself, and over 14,000 in the immediate area.

Waubuno Beach, Parry Sound, Georgian Bay, Ontario Canada.
How to get there
First you have to get to Ontario. If you are coming from overseas, the nearest international airport is Toronto International Airport, (Pearson).
Billy Bishop Toronto is the regional airport.
John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport in Hamilton is a base for low-cost carriers that fly domestic and transatlantic routes.
You can drive to Parry Sound by car from Toronto, with easy access from Highway 400.
Bus service is provided by Ontario Northland, and rail service by VIA Rail.
You can also fly into Parry Sound Municipal Airport via small commercial flights or charter flights with Georgian Bay Airways.
Where to stay
RACE HOTEL
Canaqua Sports have announced a partnership with Invest Hotels. Thanks to this partnership they can offer all race participants reduced pricing at the Comfort Inn Parry Sound. This hotel is only 5 minutes from the race site!
There is no other specific accommodation recommended by Mudskipper, but there is plenty of other choice in the area at AirBnB, Booking.com and other accommodation websites.
Race distances
There are 2 race distances:
The 10 km event includes 2.9 km of swimming over 3 legs, and 7.5 km of running, over 3 legs.
The 20 km event involves 5.8 km of swimming over 6 legs, and 14.2 km of running over 6 legs.
NOTE: The 20 km event is simply TWO laps of the 10 KM race.
Race routes
There are restrooms, changing rooms and showers near the Start/Finish area.
Energy stations
There are no energy stations around the course, but there is food available at the finish area.
Cut-off times
Weather
Held in mid-July, the weather is mild but a little unpredictable. The water temperature is around 70 degrees Fahrenheit, according to race organiser Canaqua. Wetsuits are not compulsory, but proper trail shoes are strongly recommended for this race.
There is always a chance of cold or wet weather, so you should take suitable clothing for every eventuality!
