Full event info Mudskipper Midsummer Classic in Welland, Ontario, Canada. Welland is in the middle of Niagara country, close to Niagara Falls and of course the border with the USA.
This swimrun event is held in and along the Welland canal, starting and finishing at the Welland Flatwater Centre, making it a flat and fast race well-suited to first-time swimrunners.
Race organisers Canaqua have set a distance of 9.13 km for the Midsummer Classic .

As opposed to the Welland Mudskipper swimrun event, at the Welland Community Boathouse, the Midsummer Classic swimrun event is held at the Welland Flatwater Centre on the south side of Welland.

How to get there
Depending on where you are coming from, you have several options;
From all of the airports you can either hire a car or get a taxi.
By train, there is the Toronto GO system and the Rail Canada's VIA.
By car, Welland has direct access to Highway 406.

Weather
Held in early August, the weather is mild but a little unpredictable. The water temperature is around 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit, according to race organiser Canaqua. Wetsuits are not compulsory, but probably a good idea!.
There is always a chance of cold or wet weather, so you should take suitable clothing for every eventuality!
