Full event info Mudskipper Collingwood, in Ontario, Canada. This is in Collingwood harbour, at the southern point of Georgian Bay. A major landmark here is the Collingwood Terminals Limited grain elevator, closed in 1933 but still standing.

Collingwood is situated northwest of Toronto, providing a scenic backdrop with the Blue Mountains to the north and vast expanses of natural beauty surrounding it. The town is known for its proximity to recreational activities, both on the bay and in the surrounding highlands, including skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and water sports.

How to get there

Depending on where you are coming from, you have several options;

Collingwood is roughly a two-hour drive north of the Greater Toronto Area and east of the city of Barrie, on Nottawasaga Bay. From Toronto, the town can be reached via Highway 400 or Airport Road. Collingwood is most easily reached by car, although bus service is available from Barrie via the Simcoe County LINX service, with a stopover in Wasaga Beach.
The nearest international airport is Toronto (Billy Birch or Pearson). From there you have about a 2 hour drive North.
Bus. Greyhound buses go to Collingwood. However, journey times may be longer due to transfers. Summerbound tour operator has a shuttle service between the Toronto International Airport (Pearson) or Toronto and Collingwood.

Where to stay

The nearest hotel to the start area is probably the Somewhere Inn, followed by the Milestone Motel, the Luxury Inn and the Comfort Inn and Suites. All are downtown and close to other amenities like restaurants and bars.

There are plenty of other options in and around town, available on Booking.com and AirBnB, although other accommodation search engines are available.

There is just one swimrun race distance, around 10 to 12 km in total, depending on the exact route chosen by the organisers.

There are NO cut-off times at this event. (I guess it's when the sun sets!).

Weather

Held in early July, the weather is mild but a little unpredictable. The water temperature is around 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit, according to race organiser Canaqua. Wetsuits are not compulsory, but probably a good idea!.

There is always a chance of cold or wet weather, so you should take suitable clothing for every eventuality!
