Full event info Keen As Mustard Nene Valley swimrun, held toward the end of September each year. This venue is not far from Peterborough, in Cambridgeshire. The swimming for all distances is in the beautiful River Nene, making this a freshwater event.

The event is based at Sibson Lake, 31 Great North Rd, Stibbington, PE8 6LS
How to get there
First, you need to get to Peterborough. From there you can get a taxi (about a 13-minute ride) or hire a car, to get to Sibson Lake.
The nearest airports to Peterborough are
By coach, it is 2 hours 30 minutes from London to Peterborough.
By rail, it takes about 45 minutes from London to Peterborough.
If you are driving yourself from elsewhere in the UK, Sibson Lake is just off the A1 (M), West of Peterborough.
Where to stay
There is no specific accommodation recommended; camping is available on-site, but you need to book.
Otherwise, there is plenty of choice in the area at AirBnB, Booking.com and other accommodation websites.
Race distances
There are 4 race distances:
The 5 km Intro race involves 1125 metres of swimming (4 sections) and 3.9 km of running (5 sections). Start time is 4:30pm on Saturday 7th June.
The 10 km race involves 5 swim legs and 6 running sections. The total swim distance is 2155 metres and total run distance is 7.850 km. Start time is 11:00am.
The 21 km event includes 4430 metres of swimming over 7 legs, and 17.5 km of running, over 8 legs. The start time is 08:30am.
The 31 km Full event involves 6000 metres of swimming over 11 legs, and 25 km of running over 12 legs. The start time is 08:30am.
The 5 km and 10 km distances are only open to solo competitors; the 21 km and 31 km events are open to solo racers and teams of two.
The swim to run ratio for all the distances is 1:5 ie 20% swimming and 80% running.
Race routes
According to Keen As Mustard:
"The run sections for the 5k and 10k are predominantly flat, off road with tracks, field and compact trail. The run sections for the 21k and the 31k are more undulating and take you down in the valley on a scenic but challenging river adventure with upstream and downstream swimming on the most beautiful and clean sections of the River Nene."

Cut-off times
Cut-off times are based on a pace of 3 minutes per 100 metres of swimming and 15 minutes per mile running pace, which is quite generous!
Weather
Held in June, the water is cool, and the weather is mild but a little unpredictable. The water temperature is around 15 degrees C. Wetsuits are not compulsory unless the water is below 14 degrees C. Proper trail shoes are strongly recommended.
There is always a chance of cold or wet weather, so you should take suitable clothing for every eventuality!
