Event info Swimrun Australia Sydney North, from Clontarf Reserve to Queenscliff, Manly Beach. This is a beautiful undulating course with great views of Sydney harbour, the Northern beaches and flotillas of yachts.
The four race distances take in trails, beaches and footpaths for the running sections.

Location
The 2.2 km Stroke 'n' Stride intro event starts and finishes at the Queenscliff Beach Surf Life Saving Club.
The other two events start at Clontarf Reserve, and make their way along Spit Bridge to Queenscliff at the end of Manly Beach.
How to get there
The closest airport is Sydney Kingsford Smith International (SYD), named after Australian aviator Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith. The airport is served by Qantas, Virgin Australia and Jetstar as well as many other airlines.
From the airport you can either hire a car, or else get a taxi or a bus to the Clontarf Reserve area.
Where to stay
There is no specific accommodation recommended by Swimrun Australia.
However, there is plenty of choice in the area at AirBnB, Booking.com and other accommodation websites.
Race distances
There are 3 race distances at Sydney North:
The 'Stroke 'n' Stride' 2 km intro race is barefoot (no gear!). There are 2 swim legs and 3 run sections.
The 9 km race involves 4 swim legs and 5 running sections. The total swim distance is 1.85 km and total run distance is 7.7 km.
The 17 km event involves 2.7 km of swimming over 6 legs, and 14.5 km of running over 7 legs.
You can enter any of the distances as a solo competitor or as a team of two.
Interestingly, the swim-to-run ratio gets gradually less as you move to the longer race distances. For the supersprint the swim takes up 27% of the total race distance. For the Short race distance the swim-to-run ratio is 19%, and in the Long distance it is 15%.
Race routes
The 2 km Stroke 'n' Stride race starts and finishes at Queenscliff, at the north end of Manly Beach.
The Short and Long race distances both start at Clontarf Reserve and finish at Queenscliff.
Energy stations
Around each course there are several water stops, offering hydration (water and electrolyte drinks), and fruit.
Cut-off times
There are no cut-off times for the Stroke 'n' Stride race and the Short race. However, there ARE cut-off times for the Long distance event. Race start is at 07:45. The cut-offs are:
Weather
Held around mid-October, the water is still warming up from winter. The weather is usually mild but a little unpredictable. The water temperature is around 20 degrees C, according to the race organiser. Most athletes do NOT wear wetsuits for the 2 shorter events, but the organisers recommend a wetsuit for the Long distance race..
There is always a chance of cold or wet weather, so you should take suitable clothing for every eventuality!
