Location

The event is based along the Bay Trail, starting at Hampton Beach (Discovery event) or at Beamaris (Enduro event).  Both races finish on the beach opposite the Royal Brighton Yacht Club.

The Bay Trail is a 50 km walking route along the west side of Melbourne, from the Yarra River to Seaford.

How to get there

The closest international airport is MEL.

Melbourne has actually two airports: Melbourne Airport and Avalon.

Melbourne Airport (code: MEL, often referred to as Tullamarine) is the largest airport in Melbourne (and second-busiest overall in Australia) and it’s where international flights arrive. This is the closest airport to the city, a 30-minute drive into the central business district (CBD).

The second airport is Avalon (code: AVV), which is further from the city, near Geelong. Right now, only domestic flights are operating here. Avalon is about 50 km from the city centre, although it's cheaper to fly into.

From MEL you need to take a taxi,  Uber, or you can get the SkyBus into the city. Alternatively, you can hire a car.
